PRESIDENT OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL VISITS THE REPUBLIC OF COSTA RICA LAURA FERNÁNDEZ ELECTED PRESIDENT SWEARS OATH FOR OFFICE

 

SAN JOSÉ. President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, visited the Republic of Costa Rica the second week of May 2026 to strengthened bilateral agenda and attend the ceremony of induction of the second woman elected President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Laura Fernández.

 

During the month of December 2025 former President of the Republic of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Cháves, announced the creation of a Commercial Bureau in Jerusalem formalizing the long term relationship between the State of Israel and the Republic of Costa Rica after Free Trade Agreement (FTA) reason for which President of the State of Israel stated, after official visit, the intention to double or triple the volume of trade and business between States (Herzog, 2026) (Israel en Español).

 

During ceremony and oath to office Costa Ricans and the sons of Israel were blessed (oración libro de los números) and, as soon as formal entitlement was given, President Fernández signed first official Presidential Decrees concerning the penal regime year of 360 days, continuity of projects executed by previous Administration and Government’s Structure referring to Ciudad Gobierno.
