CIVIC UNREST BOLIVIAN REPUBLIC

During the month of May 2026 civic unrest manifested in the Bolivian Republic developed political dialectic between President of the Republic, Rodrigo Paz, Bolivian National Assembly and factions representing the syndicates, the Central Obrera Bolivariana (COB) and other social movements with political incidence.

 

 Even though President of the Republic Rodrigo Paz proposed an academic debate the approval of domestic policies and dialogue with the Bolivian National Assembly and the ratification of laws related to Commerce, Green Economy, Entrepreneurship, Justice Reform, National Security Reform concerning form of organization of the State, Reform Electricity and Mining Industries are pending to conclude process with Political Consent.

 

 “We have prepared laws to evaluate, with the parliament and sectored groups of interest, an open debate in the Country for the benefit of the citizens of Bolivia”, signaled the President of the Bolivian Republic (Paz, 2026) (Personal Twitter (X) Account)

 

 Albeit Political Agreement is intended by both the Executive Head of State and Legislature civic unrest has had a toll on the Bolivian Population provoking manifestations, violent riots, blockades  humanitarian crisis due to the lack of essential inputs calling the Plurinational State an Institution in danger albeit deployment, purity and political repression.

 

 Countries in the Region have signed a Conjunct Declaration to manifest solidarity with the Bolivian authorities including the Republic of Argentina, Republic of Chile, Republic of Costa Rica, Republic of Ecuador, Republic of El Salvador, Republic of Honduras, Republic of Panamá, Republic of Paraguay and Republic of Perú.
