SECRETARY GENERAL MARK RUTTE – SECRETARY OF DEFENSE PETE HEGSETH

With the objective to neutralize threats identified by the Secretary General, Mark Rutte, as the violation of Air Space, overall challenges to security and drone threats, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) proposed to invest in the domain of Defense strengthening the position of deterrence,  Supreme Command of Europe and maintaining 1billion people safe.

 Albeit proposed innovation and speed determination of hybrid threats concerning the Press Conference the Defense Ministers and the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Pete Hegseth, the objective to bring conflict to an end including a Just and lasting Peace required a fair and equalized spending within the defensive alliance:

 

“We all support the effort led by the United States to bring an end to the War against Ukraine and secure a Just and lasting Peace”, stated Secretary General Mark Rutte (Rutte, 2025) (NATO News).

 

Albeit meeting aimed Ministers of Defense, Remarks presented by Rutte and Hegseth included the discussion of the importance of the 5% defense depense and transfer of weapons to NATO to fight in Ukraine

 

 “We have a Peace President (…) standing with those who stand with the United States” (Hegseth, 2025) (NATO News).
